Newly is delighted to announce the appointment of our new Business Development Manager in Queensland, Kerry Broodryk.
With an exceptional career history of frontline roles in banking and ITC in her native South Africa, New Zealand and Australia, the doors are now open from Kerry’s Brisbane office.
Her role will concentrate on providing workforce assistance to aged care and disability service providers from Newly’s database – Australia’s largest curated pool of carers and support professionals.
Kerry and her family moved to Queensland in 2009 to give her two sons, her husband and herself ‘the best education and career opportunities we could imagine.’
For the past two plus years, Kerry held the position of Account Executive at National Seniors Australia. Her wide-ranging work saw her involved in advocacy for seniors, government liaison, research and workforce planning.
“I loved it right from the start,” she says. “The opportunity to help develop services for older people, generally in aged care, became a real passion for me. Giving them a voice helped me see how vital it is to have appropriate and professional workforce support.”
In her time off, Kerry volunteers at a local aged care home, helping with a lifestyle program that includes recreational and social activities.
Kerry comes to Newly with a mix of enthusiasm, technical and business expertise and a genuine empathy to help vulnerable people.
“I understand all of the perspectives,” she says. “I know what service providers need by way of workforce support to meet their duty of care. I understand that carers and staff want to feel valued. And, I know what their clients and residents want in terms of respect, companionship and practical assistance.”
